Bet you don’t know half of this….

Welcome to our third blog! This year is whizzing past and we can’t quite believe we are in April already.

April is going to be a fantastic month for Team JA. Mainly… because we are BACK IN OUR STUDIOS! We have had a ball on zoom and we have all agreed that it really has been so important to keep our connections, stay focussed and keep mentally and physically active. (Seniors especially, I think you’ll agree we have worked pretty hard… chair fitness anyone?!) Our amazing Adults are still trundling away on zoom but we know this next month will whizz by!

However, all of this aside, we wanted to let you guys know a little more about us and thought we would share what you guys may NOT know about the JA Team.

Did you know, that Miss Gem & Miss Fiona have been friends since they were teenagers. They actually went to Germany with a performance of the show “Fame” and shared a room. The trip was amazing, however, it didn’t start off so well when the host family completely forgot them and left them standing in a car park in the middle of Germany! It was the start of a very funny, very interesting week! How we laugh now…

Miss Jackie is Claire & Miss Gem’s Mum. Did you know, that Claire trained with Miss Jackie too! (She will hate me for writing this, but she was SO good & as little ones, we were all jealous of her splits & jetes!) Claire will always remind Miss Jackie how she would rope her into helping the Tots, whether it was as Frosty the Snowman (it was the 90’s, the costume was terrifying!!) or as Princess Jasmine in an Aladdin Ballet. But, as a dutiful Daughter, she just agreed and helped where she could along the way.

Claire and Miss Gem have had many jobs over the years and have always loved to work hard. Claire has worked as a PA, Legal Secretary among other things and even used to work on “the Jolly Roger” on Clacton pier. Who remembers that cafe?! Miss Gem has worked as a barmaid, lecturer, was Wendy in Peter Pan and even used to work on the education team at Jimmys Farm! But, we both have such a passion for JA Performing Arts!
